about me

Tomoyuki Yasuda, Ph.D.  Professor of Lifelong Learning and Career Studies, Hosei University, Japan. I have long been conducting my research and publishing papers/books mainly about program evaluation in Japan (where I was born and raised) since I came back from the United States after completing my graduate work at Penn State in 2005 (LINK).

Research Interests

My research addresses methodological issues in program evaluation and substantive issues related to well-being, broadly defined. I focus on well-being in social contexts, examining how individuals are empowered in ways that support subjective well-being and positive future expectations. My recent work explores how people maintain and reconstruct well-being while navigating social and economic risks and uncertainty, with particular attention to psychological and contextual resources that foster adaptability and meaning-making processes, thereby contributing to positive future expectations.
